Laura Béchard-Evans (she/her/hers)
Registered Massage Therapist
Laura is originally from Montreal and moved to Vancouver 7 years ago to be closer to the mountains. She is a graduate of the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy, and is excited to be embarking on a new career path that feeds her active body and desire to support each individual's wellness journey.
Before this, Laura worked in mental health research and disability, having completed a Master’s in Psychiatric Research. She is interested in exploring the intersection between the experience of physical pain and stored emotions/trauma in the body. She believes that massage is a wonderful somatic therapy to dive deeper and release long-standing emotional tension.
Laura uses a combination of myofascial release, instrument-assisted tissue mobilizations, trigger point release, stretching and swedish massage techniques to help her patients heal and regain functional mobility when needed.
When she is not working, Laura loves to mountain and gravel bike, practice yoga, strength training and training for a half-marathon. She is also passionate in supporting sport enthusiasts who have related injuries such as chronic tendonitis, healed fractures/dislocations, sprains and strains.
In addition, she has experience and interest in reducing symptoms associated with chronic headaches, fibromyalgia, arthritis and temporal mandibular joint dysfunction.
